Welcome to Places To Eat in Cheddar.

Welcome to the definitive guide to to the best restaurants, pubs with restaurants, cafes and snack bars in Cheddar and the surrounding area. This is the only locally produced restaurant and eating out guide, I know this because I live here. No other internet guide gives you the same number of restaurants, pubs, cafes and snack bars as Places To Eat in Cheddar. No other guide gives you as much choice and information to make an informed decision on where to eat.

You can choose from British, Indian and Chinese restaurants, quality pub and gastropub restaurants, fish ‘n’ chips at the foot of the Gorge or a slap-up full monty English breakfast. I have brought together the best dining out experiences in Cheddar and from the links available on the site have tried to give you a flavour of what's on offer in the village itself and the local area.

This really is a corner of England rich in history, heritage, geology and cheese. The oldest complete skeleton discovered in Britain was found here.  Gough's Cave is an internationally famous archeological site. The Romans were here. Britain's largest Gorge with Britain's largest underground river is here and Cheddar has been known for its famous cheese since 1130 AD.

Explore the Mendips on foot or by bike. Take the dog for the walk of its life (if you haven't got a dog you can borrow mine). Go fishing, shooting (clay pigeons) or just relax and soak up the glorious views you can get from pretty much anywhere in the area.

Wells and its Cathedral is 10 miles down the road, Glastonbury and its Tor a couple of miles further on.

For the best information on what to do and where to go if you're not eating, then go here to Cheddar Villages' own community website:

http://www.cheddarvillage.co.uk/index.htm

I've also got sites covering Wells, Weston-super-Mare and Bristol if you fancy venturing out for a bite to eat there. The links are at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for reading and enjoy Cheddar.
